Christ: Prince of Peace

Find Peace with Abide | Prince of peace, Bible verse pictures, Bible prayers

One of the names of Jesus that I love is Prince of Peace. In our world today, that is a title that we should all be clinging to—and the promise that comes with it—because there are promises that come with the name of Jesus.

In the world today, we long for unity. We long for the peace that we’re talking about. But what do we see? We see strife. We see division—even lawlessness. And yet, Jesus is called the Prince of Peace. And He is not just Himself the Prince of Peace, but He offers that same peace that is Him, to us—that it might reign in our hearts, reign in our lives, in the middle of all kinds of situations.

I love Isaiah 26:3 that says, Thou wilt keep him in perfect peace, whose mind is stayed on thee: because he trusteth in thee (Isaiah 26:3 KJV).

That’s a promise that’s available to each and every one of us. And in that promise, He even tells us, how do you get there from here? Keep your mind stayed on him.

Here’s a promise for today: Isaiah says that the government will rest on his shoulders (Isaiah 9:6 NLT).

Every government. It doesn’t matter what the problem is, where the country is, what the issue is. God’s in charge and He’s got it. He’s called Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, and then Prince of Peace. And I love this in John 14—Jesus said this:

“I am leaving you with a gift—peace of mind and heart. And the peace I give is a gift the world cannot give. So don’t be troubled or afraid.” (John 14:27 NLT)

That’s God’s gift to each and every one of us, the Prince of Peace said, “I’m leaving you with this.” So, claim your gift today from the Son of God. The very name that is one of his names is available to you and me: Peace of heart and mind. Bless you.
