Worth More Than Many Sparrows

Are not two sparrows sold for a penny?  Yet not one of them will fall to the ground apart from the will of your Father.  And even the very hairs of your head are all numbered.  So don’t be afraid you are worth more than many sparrows.  Matthew 10:29-31 NIV
We have all felt, from time to time, feelings of inadequacy, insecurity and even questioning the importance of our own life.
Does my life really matter?
We become overwhelmed with the dealings of our daily lives and insecurity can creep in and take over.  The confidence that we work so hard to build up can easily be chipped away by a critical word, or a thoughtless gesture.
The disappointments of life can tear down the assurance of self-worth like being passed over for a job or even not getting a job you really wanted or needed, being unable to provide for your family or the inability to find someone special to spend the rest of your life with.
Jesus said in Matthew 10 that God knows the activities of the sparrow and we are certainly worth more than many sparrows.
God even knows the number of hairs on our head.  God knew us before He created us in our mother’s womb.  How special we must be to be wonderfully and fearfully made by the Creator of the Universe!
We should not be afraid when those doubts and insecurities creep in and try to tear down what we have worked so hard to build up because we know that our Heavenly Father says that we are worth so much more!
Does your life really matter?  It certainly does!
Keep your self-esteem built up by spending more time with friends who are positive and encouraging.  Try to block out those who can be critical and hurtful.
Be sure to take time out each day to thank God for creating us so wonderfully and thank Him for the sparrow!
Our Heavenly Father, thank You so much for wonderfully and fearfully creating each and every one of us.  Thank You for our individual gifts and talents. We ask that You walk with us daily and give us guidance in helping to overcome the negative and critical events of our day.  Help us look to the sparrow and allow it to be a reminder of how much our lives matter.  We love You, Jesus!  Amen.
